Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The state parliament of Baden-Württemberg will meet again next week for a special session to debate the corona measures after the deliberations of the federal and state governments.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m., as confirmed by the dpa state parliament's press office on Friday.

Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) wants to explain the measures in a government statement.

Concerned about the critical Corona situation, the federal and state governments are bringing forward their deliberations on possible stricter restrictions to next week. A switching conference by Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the Prime Minister is planned for this Tuesday, as the Federal Government confirmed in Berlin on Friday. The next meeting was originally scheduled for January 25th. Even in the face of a new, probably more contagious virus variant, calls for additional measures are now increasing - an already tightened lockdown is initially planned until January 31.
