Offenbach (dpa / lrs) - Permafrost, snow and cold temperatures: The weekend in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland will be wintry.

The German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Friday that it could become very slippery, especially in the nights due to freezing over, frost or pebbles.

On Friday it was therefore still cloudy and largely free of precipitation - at a maximum of minus one to plus two degrees.

However, light snowfall cannot be ruled out locally.

From Saturday evening, snow will finally come in from the west, which will spread over the whole of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland at night, said a meteorologist.

Due to the further low temperatures, he will remain lying down for the time being.

According to the DWD, there is also snow on Sunday.

In the west it could partially turn into rain.
