Hanover (dpa / lni) - Despite complaints from districts about the scope and rhythm of vaccine deliveries, Lower Saxony is sticking to the chosen distribution key for the corona vaccine.

It is understandable that the districts wanted to vaccinate more, but the vaccine deliveries to the country are limited, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Hanover on Friday.

With around 30,000 doses of the vaccine from Biontech / Pfizer currently available weekly in batches of 975 doses, not every one of the 50 vaccination centers in Lower Saxony can be supplied weekly.

The distribution key based on the number of inhabitants is fair, said the spokesman. Otherwise, additional deliveries to individual districts would mean that these vaccine quantities would have to be taken away from another district.
