Emergency operation means that up to 50 percent of the children are in the daycare centers - the more contagious virus mutations therefore worried many employees.
Verdi called for Covid-19 to be recognized as an occupational disease among daycare workers.
The Brunswick Verdi union secretary Bruno Gerkens recommended dividing the daycare teams.
