January 15, 2021 Sentencing Alessio Di Bernardo and Raffaele D'Alessandro to 13 years of imprisonment with aggravating circumstances excluded in the first degree, for manslaughter.

Then 4 years and 6 months of imprisonment for Roberto Mandolini, the then commander of the Appian Company.

Instead, acquit Francesco Tedesco because the fact does not constitute a crime.

These are the requests of Pg Roberto Cavallone in the trial in the Court of Assizes of appeal in Rome for the murder of Stefano Cucchi, who died in Rome on 22 October 2009, after being beaten by the carabinieri on 15 October.

In the first instance the Court of Assizes of Rome had sentenced the carabinieri Alessio Di Bernardo and Raffaele D'Alessandro to 12 years in prison for manslaughter, accused of having beaten the 31-year-old surveyor after arrest.

The judges of the Court of Assizes of Rome had acquitted Francesco Tedesco of this charge, who in 2018 decided to talk and tell what he had seen in the Casilina barracks, where the beating took place.

He, who later became the prosecution's witness, was inflicted two years and six months for forgery.

Marshal Roberto Mandolini, at the time the commander of the Appia Station where Stefano was taken, was instead sentenced to 3 years and 8 months for falsifying the arrest report.

Pg, they beat him up

"They beat him up".

So said the pg Roberto Cavallone during the reconstruction on the beating of which Stefano Cucchi was subjected.

The representative of the prosecution regarding what happened during the photo-signaling in a room of the barracks of the Casilina company added: "That type of reaction has no justification".

The pg requested 13 years of imprisonment for Alessio Di Bernardo and Raffaele D'Alessandro, the two carabinieri who beaten.

The pg Cavallone then added: "If you are able to say that without that beating Cucchi would not have died, then the crime of unintentional murder does not exist. But I do not think you are able to say it.
