Saarlouis (dpa / lrs) - Due to delivery bottlenecks for semiconductor components and the decreased demand during the corona pandemic, the car manufacturer Ford will stop production at its plant in Saarlouis from January 18 to February 19, 2021.

A spokesman for the company announced on Friday that the production of the Focus model, which the Saarland site produces for all European markets, is affected.

"We are currently not expecting any further temporary production shutdowns in other European plants."

The lack of electronic chips for cars is also causing problems for other manufacturers and suppliers in Germany.
