A supervisor of the Fresnes penitentiary center, in Val-de-Marne, is to be tried this Friday in immediate appearance before the court of Créteil for drug trafficking.

The 40-year-old, who admitted the facts, was arrested on Tuesday and is suspected of having illegally smuggled narcotics, including cannabis, meat, alcohol and cellphones to detainees since the spring of 2019, has specified the Créteil prosecutor's office, confirming information from the

Affected by a report for several weeks, according to a local union source, this supervisor had been in prison for about five years.

During a search, drugs and phones were found in his apartment located on the site of the penitentiary center, said this source.

An intermediary, a detainee in his thirties, was also arrested, suspected of reselling this merchandise to his fellow prisoners between May and August 2020. He must also be tried in immediate appearance on Friday.

The management of the prison did not react immediately.
