The Ardennes, Aisne, Meuse, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle, Nord, Vosges, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin and Territoire-de-Belfort are placed in snow and ice orange vigilance .

In the Vosges, Meuse, Moselle and Meurthe-et-Moselle, school buses were canceled on Wednesday evening for the day of Thursday.

Permanence in schools

The prefectures of Haut-Rhin and Bas-Rhin for their part announced at the end of the morning that the pupils of the department could "as of now return to their homes in order to avoid congestion on the roads".

"Schools remain open and set up a permanence for students who cannot reach their homes," they said.

The Haut-Rhin had already implemented a ban on overtaking on all roads and highways in the department on Wednesday evening for vehicles over 7.5 tonnes.

The department has added a speed limit for all vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, which also cannot drive over 70 km / h.
