When the other vaccination centers will follow has not yet been determined.

"It's not because we're not fast enough, but we don't have enough vaccine to start all six vaccination centers in Berlin at the same time," said Czaja.

“As of Monday, the three weeks when we started vaccinating will be over.

That means the first people will get their second vaccination in the arena, ”said the CDU politician.

"And as a result, the number of vaccinations that we carry out in the arena will also go up."

Czaja also addressed the interim concerns that had arisen on Wednesday about possible problems with the transport of the second now approved vaccine from the US manufacturer Moderna with the cold chain.

The Federal Ministry of Health then assured that the quality of the vaccines had not been affected by the transport.

The Moderna vaccine was originally supposed to be used from Thursday in the Erika Hess ice stadium, but according to Czaja it will only be used from Friday.

The Biontech vaccine will be used to kick off, said Czaja.

"Those who are vaccinated here today will get their second vaccination in the arena."

Czaja said it was a good day.

The new vaccination center is a second place of hope.

"You can feel that in the facility, that there is a very positive mood among the employees, the pharmacists, the doctors and the volunteers, because you realize that you are fighting this virus and that you can win this fight."
