Karlsruhe (dpa) - The world-class obstacle runner Gesa Krause is planning an "extensive indoor season" - if the Corona situation allows.

"I want to get into my routine after all these months and compete as many competitions as possible," said the 28-year-old from the Trier New Year's Eve run at the video press conference for the Karlsruhe meeting on January 29th in the Europahalle.

Krause is currently back in the high altitude training camp in Iten / Kenya.

The two-time World Cup third and two-time European champion over 3000 meters obstacle starts in Karlsruhe, the start of the World Indoor Tour, over 1500 meters.

She also hopes for the 20./21.

German athletics championships and other meetings scheduled for February in Dortmund.

The Karlsruhe team headed by sports director Alain Blondel are planning an event as a pure TV event (livestream on SWR) with an extensive hygiene and tracking concept, corona tests for everyone involved, without viewers and journalists.

Around 120 athletes from all continents should be at the start.

"Athletics needs a light at the end of the tunnel," said meeting boss Martin Wacker.
