Halle / Berlin (dpa) - The Federal Cultural Foundation is providing a total of EUR 3.43 million for 24 new projects.

This was announced by the foundation based in Halle on Thursday.

"Universal Metabolism" is being funded with around 245,000 euros as part of the Berlin Atonal 2021 festival, which aims to analyze the social impact of the corona crisis with international artist groups.

The Helmholtz Center for Cultural Techniques at Humboldt University receives 152,400 euros for the “Binding Bodies” exhibition on the Chinese cultural technique of tying feet.

The projects funded also include the interdisciplinary festival “Disappearing Berlin 2021”, which aims to draw artistic attention to urban spaces threatened with disappearing. This is supported with 187,800 euros. “Existing Otherwise / Anders Existieren” researches with a grant of 99,200 euros in the Wedding Gallery and in the Savannah Center for Contemporary Art in Ghana how lifestyles can be changed through more environmentally friendly behavior. The list also includes the “Songs of the Sky” exhibition by C / O Berlin, which deals with the “cloud” as a motif and metaphor. The project is supported with 98,000 euros from the Federal Cultural Foundation.
