Augsburg (dpa / lby) - Five people were injured in an apartment fire in Augsburg.
As the fire department announced on Thursday, a Christmas tree caught fire in an apartment on the second floor.
Since the smoke spread quickly up to the third floor, a total of 13 residents had to leave their apartments and be looked after on Wednesday evening.
Two of them were rescued from their homes with portable ladders.
According to the fire brigade, the fire was quickly extinguished, but the apartment on the fire was no longer habitable.
The remaining residents of the house were able to go back to their apartment that night.
