A man in his fifties was found dead early Tuesday morning in the Gayeulles district north-east of Rennes, we learned from the public prosecutor.
According to the first elements, the victim would have been beaten to death.
A 49-year-old man was quickly arrested at the scene of the tragedy.
Already known to the courts, in particular for acts of violence, the alleged perpetrator of the fatal blows was taken into custody.
He must be referred to the prosecution this Thursday morning and a judicial investigation for intentional homicide will be opened.
