Researchers have found 4 symptoms of the emerging corona virus infection, which causes Covid-19 disease, that are related to the formation of the body. High levels of antibodies to the virus continue for 3 months.
The presence of high levels of antibodies means that the person has immunity to infection with the emerging coronavirus - its scientific name is "SARS-CoV-2" - for a second time.
The study was conducted by researchers from the University of Wisconsin in the United States and published as a preliminary version (not accepted in a medical journal), and has not yet been subjected to peer review.
The researchers analyzed the blood tests of 113 patients infected with the Coronavirus after 5 weeks of recovering from their disease, and then again 3 months after their illness.
They found that people who had Covid-19 and were hospitalized had higher antibody levels than others, and in general the levels of antibodies increased with the severity of Covid-19.
But for people who were infected with Covid-19 and were not hospitalized, the researchers noted that 4 of the symptoms are associated with persistently high levels of antibodies to the Corona virus, and they are:
1- Fever
2- Abdominal pain
3- Diarrhea
4- Decreased appetite
This means that the appearance of these symptoms on you while you are sick can be a sign that you are likely to have longer immunity against Corona.
Overcoming the pandemic
The researchers said that permanent immunity - which is often assessed by persistent antibodies - will be necessary to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic.
In severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), antibodies to viruses persist in the majority of patients for at least 3 years after the disease.
On the other hand, little is known about the emerging corona virus, but some reports indicate that immunity may last for at least 6 months.
However, other reports indicate that the antibodies against SARS-Cove-2 could decrease in the first few months, as some patients become negative.
