Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - After an apartment fire in a Magdeburg apartment building, a 31-year-old alleged arsonist is in custody.
The competent district court decided on Tuesday afternoon, said a police spokeswoman on Wednesday in Magdeburg.
Residents and passers-by noticed the fire late on Sunday evening.
According to the fire department, there were sources of fire in several rooms.
When trying to put out the fire, four neighbors and passers-by were injured by inhaling smoke gases and had to be treated in the hospital.
The tenant of the apartment was not at home at the time.
