Saudi Arabia warns its citizens against traveling to 12 countries

Today, Saudi Arabia warned its citizens against traveling to 12 countries without prior permission from the concerned authorities and any other countries in which the Corona pandemic has not yet been controlled.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement, that it “warns citizens against traveling to a number of countries without obtaining prior permission from the concerned authorities, and from these countries (Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Turkey, Armenia, Somalia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Belarus), and any other countries in which the pandemic has not yet been controlled or the spread of the mutated strain of the virus has been proven.

She explained that this comes as a supplement to her statement issued on January 8, regarding permitting travel outside the Kingdom and coming to it, starting from next March 31, and “the state’s concern for the safety and security of citizens wishing to travel abroad when the aforementioned travel permit time arrives, and under the security conditions. And instability prevailing in a number of countries, the continuation of the outbreak of the pandemic and the spread of a new, mutated strain of the virus.

The Ministry called on citizens who are present, or who may be in these countries in the future, to urgently register with the Kingdom's embassies there.
