It had previously been decided that the first week, which for the students was half a school week, would be conducted at a distance in the same way as the last days before the Christmas holidays.

But now the School Principal has made the decision that the teaching will be conducted at a distance also between 18-22 January and that there will be partial distance teaching during the period 25-29 January.

- We take responsibility in the infection situation that prevails in Umeå municipality to reduce the risk of infection in the business.

Our ultimate goal is for the school to return to local education as soon as it is allowed.

All citizens in Umeå municipality now need to contribute to reducing the spread of infection so that our students can return to teaching in school, says Moa Brydsten (S), chair of the pre-school and primary school committee, in a press release.

Can continue into February

Distance learning may also be relevant in February.

- We are prepared to conduct distance education even in February if the infection situation continues to be worrying, says Ann-Christine Gradin, director of education Umeå municipality, in a press release.

The municipality writes that they are working to see how the students can be offered lunch and that students and guardians will receive information from their respective school about how the teaching should be designed during the period.
