Offenbach (dpa / lhe) - The around 1400 pharmacies in Hesse have already distributed several million FFP2 masks free of charge to people from the corona risk group.

The Hessian Pharmacists Association (HAV) in Offenbach announced that a health insurance certificate had to be submitted this week.

Eligible citizens received two vouchers by post that they could redeem in pharmacies.

The first voucher can be used until February 28, the second from February 16 to April 15.

The personal contribution per voucher is two euros.

Those who have not yet received a letter from their cash register should be patient - and not go to the pharmacy without a certificate of authorization, explained HAV chairman Holger Seyfarth.

The corona risk group includes people over 60 years of age and with certain chronic diseases. According to the HAV, around two million people are entitled to purchase throughout Hessen, and they would be provided with more than 30 million masks by mid-April. The nationwide campaign will cost the federal government around 2.5 billion euros.
