Pirna (dpa / sn) - The state dam administration has warned against entering the ice on rivers, dams and reservoirs.

Due to fluctuating water levels, it is not sustainable and there is a risk to life when entering, it said in a statement on Wednesday.

Parents, teachers and educators should make children aware of these dangers.

Tobogganing on dykes is also prohibited.

"Dikes protect us from flooding," emphasized managing director Heinz Gräfe.

"Entering and driving on it - but also by tobogganing - can damage the sward of the dike."

This protects the dike and is important for its stability.
