The US State Department has announced that it will cancel the UN Ambassador to Taiwan's visit to Taiwan, which is scheduled to begin on the 13th, in preparation for the inauguration of a new administration next week.

A spokesman for the US State Department, Otagus, issued a statement yesterday, stating that he would cancel all scheduled official visits this week.

The reason for this is to prepare for the inauguration of the administration, such as selecting staff to act on behalf of the new administration until a senior State Department official is approved by the parliament.

Of these, UN Ambassador Kraft was scheduled to visit Taiwan from the 13th to the 15th of this month, but according to the UN delegation, this visit was also canceled.

The incumbent US Ambassador to the United Nations visited Taiwan for the first time since Taiwan left the United Nations in 1971, and was of great interest.
