The power outages began at 01.00 on Tuesday night.

The first villages affected were Långträsk, Koler, Kolerträsk and Brännträsk and the surrounding area.

According to PiteEnergi, the power outage in Långträsk was solved relatively quickly, but at 09.00 on Tuesday morning, the energy company stated that the power is still not back in several villages.

- It is trees that have fallen down as there is a lot of snow there, says Stefan Lövgren, supervisor of operations and energy at PiteEnergi.

Cut tree during the night

Around 150 to 200 subscribers have been affected.

According to Lövgren, however, it is mostly holiday homes in the affected parts.

- We have driven scooters and cut down trees all night, and gradually the electricity has been turned on in some households.

At 09:15 on Tuesday morning, PiteEnergi announces that it expects the power to be back to all households relatively soon.

The villages that are affected now include Koler, Brännträsk, Kolerträsk and Mandträsk.
