With the passing of the hours and despite the large amount of snow that still accumulates on the streets, Madrid begins to regain its pulse from day to day.
According to the mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the capital will recover 27 bus lines starting tomorrow, Tuesday, will open a specific one to Mercamadrid for its workers and will resume "immediately" the garbage collection service in the capital.
And it is that, despite the warnings that the City Council of the capital has issued after the storm to its citizens so that they do not take their waste to the streets, the bags have been accumulating in different parts of the city.
A situation that will be reversed "immediately", said the councilor, who explained that he will begin by collecting the bags that are already accumulating in the snow.
"I ask the Madrilenians once again to hold their garbage bags in their homes or in the garbage rooms for a few more days," he reiterated in an interview on Cadena Ser.
"We have the perspective that the service can be restored from Wednesday but we still cannot say a fixed date," said Almeida, who added that this collection will begin on the main roads already open to the passage of vehicles and more passable for garbage trucks.
27 bus lines
What will have a fixed date will be the return of the EMT buses to the streets.
The City Council will enable 27 lines from this Tuesday and will open a new one to transport Mercamadrid workers.
These lines will not make "the complete routes", they will circulate on "high capacity roads so that buses have greater mobility" and will guarantee mobility towards "hospitals, transport hubs and basic infrastructures".
This has been assured by Almeida who has also remarked that the modification of routes and schedules will be unavoidable due to the circumstances in which the city is still due to ice and snow. "We ask for patience of the people of Madrid, although it seems repetitive, because the schedules are they are going to change as a result of the weather conditions ", the mayor explained.
The routes
As detailed in the Environment and Mobility Area, 17 of the recovered routes will reach hospitals in the capital: 56 (Diego de León-Puente de Vallecas), 81 (Oporto-Hospital October 12), 85 (Atocha-Butarque) , 86 (Atocha-Villaverde Alto), 121 (Camp-Hospital October 12), 124 (Cuatro Caminos-Lacoma), 125 (Mar de Cristal-Hospital Ramón y Cajal), 135 (Plaza de Castilla-Hospital Ramón y Cajal) , 138 (Plaza de Cristo Rey-Colonia San Ignacio de Loyola), 143 (Manuel Becerra-Villa de Vallecas), 147 (Callao-Barrio del Pilar), 156 (Manuel Becerra-Legazpi), 165 (Alsacia-Hospital Ramón y Cajal ), 166 (Barajas-Hospital Ramón y Cajal), 210 (Diego de León-La Elipa), H1 (Sierra de Guadalupe-Hospital Infanta Leonor) and a special service from Ifema to Hospital Isabel Zendal.
To these are added 10 regular lines that will run through the main axes of the capital: 14 (Conde Casal-Avenida de Pío XII), 19 (Plaza de Cataluña-Legazpi), 21 (Pintor Rosales-Barrio El Salvador), 27 (Embajadores -Plaza de Castilla), 34 (Cibeles-Las Águilas), 38 (Manuel Becerra-Las Rosas), 45 (Legazpi-Avenida Reina Victoria), 146 (Callao-Los Molinos) and circulars C1 and C2.
Finally, the corporation will enable the special line T32 (Legazpi-MercaMadrid) "with the aim of facilitating mobility and access to this important food marketing, distribution and logistics center", they explain in the department headed by Borja Carabante.
