Mannheim (AP) - Leader Adler Mannheim has lost in the new season of the German ice hockey league for the first time.

The leaders of the southern group, who had previously been unbeaten in six games, lost 1: 3 (1: 2, 0: 0, 0: 1) to the Schwenningen Wild Wings on Tuesday and thus missed the expansion of the table lead.

The Schwenninger, who were surprisingly good this season, secured third place with their fifth win of the season.

The Schwenningen professionals Tyson Spink (14th minute), Andreas Thuresson (19th) and Jamie MacQueen (60th) met for the Wild Wings in front of empty stands in Mannheim.

Only national player Markus Eisenschmid (18th) was successful for the Adler, making it 1-1 in the meantime.
