Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The state of North Rhine-Westphalia has extended the test requirement for travelers and travelers returning from Ireland.

It also continues to apply if you come to NRW from Great Britain or South Africa.

This emerges from the new corona entry regulation, which was published on Tuesday evening and applies from Wednesday.

The background to this are corona mutations, which have now also appeared in Ireland, according to the reasoning behind the new regulation.

Against this background, the same rules as for Great Britain and South Africa should apply to persons who have been in Ireland in the ten days prior to entry.

Travelers from these states must be quarantined for ten days and tested within 48 hours.

If a second negative test occurs after five days, the quarantine obligation ends.
