Mellingen / Umpferstedt (dpa / th) - In a traffic accident in Weimarer Land, two men were thrown from their vehicle and seriously injured.
The two had left the federal highway 87 in a car between Umpferstedt and Mellingen early Monday morning, the police said.
The car crashed into a ditch and collided with several trees.
Both occupants were thrown out of the vehicle by the force of the impact.
According to initial findings, they were not buckled up.
Police officers who happened to pass by noticed the accident and provided first aid. The officers also found liquor bottles on the street - both men smelled of alcohol. You were taken to a hospital. The main road around the accident site was initially completely closed.
