A Korean court on the issue of comfort women considered that the sentence of the decision ordering compensation to the Japanese government had arrived at the Japanese government on the 9th.

The Government of Japan has a policy of not appealing from the standpoint that it is not allowed to submit to the jurisdiction of South Korea, in which case the judgment will be finalized on the 23rd of this month.

On the 8th of this month, the Seoul Central District Court handed down a ruling ordering the Japanese government to compensate the women of the former comfort women over the comfort women issue, and the Japanese government strongly protested to the Korean government that it was "absolutely unacceptable." Did.

The Government of Japan has a policy of not appealing from the standpoint that the sovereign state should be dismissed from the principle of "sovereign immunity" under international law, which is not subject to the jurisdiction of other countries.

Under these circumstances, the Seoul Central District Court took the procedure of "public notice delivery" to publish the documents on the homepage, and considered that the sentence had arrived at the Japanese government on the 9th.

As a result, if the Japanese government does not appeal, the decision will be finalized at midnight on the 23rd of this month.

In South Korea, apart from this trial, a total of 20 former comfort women and bereaved families have filed a lawsuit seeking damages from the Japanese government.

The Seoul Central District Court has decided to cancel the decision on the 13th and resume the argument in March.
