Berlin (dpa) - In the fight against organized crime, the head of the Federal Criminal Police Office, Holger Münch, spoke out in favor of creating a real estate register.

"Try to find out in Germany who has invested money in real estate," said Münch on Monday at a conference of the NRW state government in Berlin on internal security.

A real estate register could make the recovery of assets in the area of organized crime much easier.

Most recently, there were 45 investigations into organized crime with a clan connection.

"We investigate in different federal states," said Münch.

North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Berlin and Bremen are particularly affected.

It will take «staying power» to fight this phenomenon.

Clan crime had occurred in Germany over 30 years.

It all started with immigration from Turkey and Lebanon at the beginning of the 1990s, rejected asylum applications and “chains of tolerance” under residence law, according to Münch.

"The second generation is the problematic one that ended up in organized crime," said the BKA chief.

She is uneducated and not ready to integrate.
