On Monday, the first direct Qatar Airways flight arrived from Hamad International Airport to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, after the opening of the Gulf airspace.

This step comes after the Gulf reconciliation during the Al-Ula summit in Saudi Arabia about a week ago.

Qatar Airways announced that it would operate direct flights to Jeddah and Dammam.

The relevant authorities in the State of Qatar also affirmed that all precautionary measures have been taken to ensure the safety and security of travelers.

For its part, Saudi Airlines announced the arrival of its first flight to Doha on Monday evening.

It is noteworthy that the outcomes of the Al-Ula summit confirmed the end of the crisis that began in June 2017, and led to the severance of Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt of their political and diplomatic relations, and the closure of borders and airspace with Qatar.
