Neubrandenburg / Waren (dpa / mv) - The district of Mecklenburgische Seenplatte has specified its regulations on the entry ban for hundreds of owners of second homes and the core families.

As the district announced in a general decree on Sunday evening, owners of second homes are now only allowed to come to the Lake District until January 21.

Then it is prohibited for the time being because of the high number of infections.

In the district, the weekly incidence on Sunday rose to 261 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

The circle was the first in the northeast to exceed the critical 200 mark.

Associated with this are the so-called 15-kilometer restriction for locals around the main residence from this Monday and an entry ban for non-residents for tourist purposes and without "good reasons."

In contrast, members of the nuclear families - spouses, life partners, children, parents, siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, grandparents and great-grandparents - are allowed to visit their family members in the Lake District.

Good reasons are also work or medical care.

The purchase of "everyday goods" is also excluded from the 15-kilometer radius.

At the end of the month, a decision should be made on how to proceed.

The incumbent Vice District Administrator Kai Seiferth emphasized that the measures should consistently serve to reduce contacts.

The lake district is an important recreational area.
