India intends to launch one of the largest vaccination campaigns against the emerging corona virus (Covid-19) in the world, next Saturday, with the aim of stopping the spread of the epidemic that infected 10 million and 450 thousand and 284 cases within its borders, and pushing its economy into recession.

As of January 16, India will begin administering the first doses of a vaccine against "Covid-19" disease to nearly 30 million health care workers and other frontline employees who are most vulnerable to infection, according to a statement by the Indian Ministry of Health.

The ministry stated that the vaccination program will include 270 million other people, including the elderly and people suffering from several diseases in the next stage.

Yesterday, the Ministry announced that 18,645 cases of Coronavirus had been recorded during the past 24 hours, and 201 deaths from the virus were recorded, bringing the total of deaths to 150,999 cases.

On the other hand, officials said that bird flu is spreading rapidly across India, as seven states have confirmed cases of infection, while states are awaiting test results, while imposing measures to contain the virus.

Uttar Pradesh was the latest state to record cases of the virus, as a zoo was closed in the city of Kanpur, after four birds and two parrots died from the virus.

Cases of bird flu have been reported in Kerala, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Gujarat, according to the federal government.

It is noteworthy that the bird flu virus mainly infects wild birds and poultry, but it can infect people who have direct contact with infected birds.
