The focus of the vaccinations is on the residents of old people's and nursing homes as well as on the staff of clinics in areas with a very high risk, as Holetschek announced on Sunday.

Around half of the 111 897 vaccinations (as of January 9) were given to hospital staff and employees in care facilities.

Bavaria has set up a "good system with 99 vaccination centers".

Every vaccine that Bavaria receives from the federal government is administered immediately.

On January 8, the Free State received another 112,125 vaccine doses from the manufacturer Biontech.

At the same time, Holetschek called for vaccines to be approved more quickly within the EU.

In addition, you need more vaccine.

The willingness in the population is high, many people want a vaccination as soon as possible.

"Everyone who wants to be vaccinated will be vaccinated," said the health minister.
