First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong-Geon departed for the early release of Korean ships and crew members detained in Iran in the early morning of today (10th).

Vice Minister Choi plans to enter into negotiations with Iranian authorities to lift the detention of the crew after joining the working-level delegation who arrived in the area on the 7th.

Deputy Minister Choi is expected to offer some solution to Iran's demand to expand humanitarian trade using the funds as the exports of Iranian crude oil, worth $7 billion, are frozen in South Korea.
