“The Department of State has imposed complex internal restrictions for decades on how our diplomats, employees and other representatives interact with their Taiwan counterparts.
Today I am announcing the lifting of these restrictions, ”the message says.
It is noted that the US government accepted these restrictions unilaterally in order to "pacify the communist authorities in Beijing."
In accordance with the decision to lift the restrictions, US departments should consider the past recommendations of the State Department regarding cooperation with Taiwan invalid.
