To mark the 18th anniversary of her disappearance, those close to Estelle Mouzin walked in silence in the streets of Guermantes in memory of the girl, whose body remains untraceable despite the confessions of serial killer Michel Fourniret.

18 years after the death of Estelle Mouzin, a white march was organized in Guermantes.

A hundred people gathered on Saturday afternoon in front of the bakery in the small town of Seine-et-Marne, where the girl was last seen when she disappeared in 2003. The procession led by Eric Mouzin, Estelle's father walked in silence to the cherry tree planted in memory of the victim.

"The pieces of the puzzle come together little by little," said Eric Mouzin.

New searches to find Estelle's body

Tony, who came to walk in memory of Estelle, worked at the town hall and knew the girl and her parents.

Like other residents of the city, he has lived with this drama for 18 years.

"We still have permanent suffering. The only thing we want is for Michel Fourniret to tell us where the body is. I am thinking of mum and dad who want to mourn. As long as we have not found the body, it will be painful, ”he explains.

Michel Fourniret, 78, sentenced to life imprisonment for the murders of seven young women or adolescent girls between 1987 and 2001, ended up confessing his responsibility in the disappearance of Estelle Mouzin in March 2020, after being questioned by his ex-wife and accomplice Monique Olivier.

At the beginning of December, the large-scale searches carried out in a former property of the serial killer to find the body of the victim remained without results.

"Other searches will take place," said the Mouzin family lawyer, Didier Seban, on Saturday.
