The B737-500 airliner departing from Jakarta, Indonesia and heading for Kalimantan Island crashed into the sea after 4 minutes of take-off on the afternoon of the 9th local time.



Local media reported that Sriwijaya Airlines' SJ182 flight was cut off at around 2:40 pm and is currently being searched, and that it has dipped more than 10,000 feet in the minute before the loss of contact.



It was confirmed that 50 passengers and 12 crew members were on board during the accident, and among the passengers there were 7 children and 3 infants.



The airliner did not send any emergency signals to the control tower at the time of the accident, but it is believed to have crashed in the waters north of Jakarta, and the depth of the area is said to be about 20m.



While there is no news regarding the survivors, the Korean Embassy in Donesia has confirmed the passenger list, and it is believed that there are no Korean passengers.
