Munich (dpa / lby) - travelers returning from abroad are increasingly checked by border and federal police at the weekend.

Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) announced on Friday.

The focus is on compliance with infection control regulations.

Checks are carried out with random veil searches and at the airports in Munich, Nuremberg and Memmingen.

If possible, all those entering the country should be subjected to an infection control check.

Herrmann appealed to all those returning to travel to be tested for an infection as early as 48 hours before their arrival - even if, according to the current regulatory situation, it is sufficient to present a negative corona test within 48 hours of entering a corona risk area and that Submit the result to the health department within three days.

A quarantine obligation applies to those entering from risk areas.

You have to go straight to your own apartment or other suitable accommodation and stay there for ten days.

The quarantine can be ended with a negative test after five days at the earliest.

Exceptions, for example for commuters or travelers, remain unaffected according to the information.
