In the weeks following December 18, Apotek Hjärtat doubled its sales compared with the previous 14 days.
But the risk is considered small that, like last spring, there will be problems with the availability of mouth guards.
- We have several different suppliers, so if there are no new recommendations, the stocks and suppliers we currently have will suffice, says Annika Svedberg, chief pharmacist at Apotek Hjärtat.
Annual volume in one day
Several large pharmacy chains testify to a sharp increase in sales.
The online pharmacy Apotea has increased its sales by 400 percent since 18 December.
During one day in December, the 21st, Apoteket sold 9,000 packs of mouth guards, which is an approximate annual volume.
Uses them wrong
Despite the fact that mouth guards have become more common, many people still use them incorrectly, says Beatrice Ander at the pharmacy on USÖ.
