"Currently, fakes related to coronavirus are rarely sent to blocking, which may indicate the knowledge acquired by the population regarding the origin of this infection, methods of its prevention and treatment, as well as the measures taken by the authorities," the agency responds to the corresponding TASS request ...

The peak of the spread of fake information about the coronavirus was noted in Russia from March to May 2020, the Prosecutor General's Office said.

In the summer, there was also a decline in fake activity.

At the same time, 2020 became a record year in Russia for the number of detected fakes, the most common of which were data on the alleged concealment by the authorities of the real extent of the spread of infection and the number of deaths from coronavirus, on the transfer of military personnel to large cities in order to “severely restrict the rights of citizens”, and that the new coronavirus infection is a myth.

In December 2020, Roskomnadzor informed the media, social networks and other popular Internet resources about the inadmissibility of the spread of fakes about vaccination, its safety and the vaccines used against COVID-19.
