Erfurt (dpa / th) - Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow's (left) demand for a hard lockdown that encompasses more economic areas than before has met with different responses in Thuringia.

«We reject a total lockdown of the economy!

Many industries are already shaken.

Economically and socially, Thuringia will not hold out, ”wrote CDU parliamentary group leader Mario Voigt on Friday on Twitter.

The state government should take better care of vaccinating quickly and not make new demands every day.

The parliamentary manager of the Greens in the state parliament, Madeleine Henfling, welcomed Ramelow's proposal.

«I also consider the hard lockdown to be necessary.

That means shutting down everything that is not needed and the other prime ministers have to be convinced of that, ”she wrote on Twitter.

The left-wing member of the state parliament, Katharina König-Preuss, also stated in the short message service that a tightened lockdown would make sense: "For a few weeks, close everything that is not necessary to combat the pandemic or to provide basic services."

Previously, Thuringia's Prime Minister Bodo Ramelow (left) had stated in interviews with the MDR and the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” (FAZ) that he considered it necessary to further tighten the measures to combat the corona pandemic across federal states.

"We just have to take a complete break now - as quickly as we can," he said at MDR Aktuell on Friday morning.

The general economy as a whole must be halted.

Thuringia could not do this alone, for example because of its interactions with neighboring federal states.

He had told the FAZ that he was annoyed that he was not ready to use December with its many public holidays for a nationwide break.

"Everything that is not essential to life or that cannot be systemically turned off should have been stopped for four weeks."

He also criticized the inequality of the previous measures, for which only restaurateurs, hoteliers, artists and self-employed people, showmen and children would be held responsible in order to ward off pandemics - but the entire rest of the economy pretended to be nothing.

After Saxony, Thuringia is currently one of the federal states that are particularly hard hit by the pandemic.
