Berlin (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin have also won their third home game of the current season of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Friday evening, the capital city won against the Kölner Haie with 5: 0 (2: 0, 2: 0, 1: 0).

Kris Foucault contributed two goals to the success of the Berliners.

Matt White, Parker Tuomie and Frank Hördler also met.

In front of empty stands in the arena at Ostbahnhof, the hosts got off to a lightning-fast start.

White scored after just 44 seconds.

A few minutes later, Tuomie extended the lead after a solo run.

In an intense game, the guests had quite a few scoring chances, but were unable to use them.

The Berliners remained the more efficient team in the second third.

First Foucault increased, then captain Hördler was successful after strong preparatory work by Giovanni Fiore.

In the final section, Hannibal Weitzmann replaced the former Eisbären goalie Justin Pogge in the Kölner Tor.

But after just 49 seconds, the young keeper had to admit defeat.

Foucalt made the decision with his second goal.

Then the Berliners brought the lead safely over time.

Goalkeeper Mathias Niederberger was able to celebrate his second shutout of the season.
