The French club Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne has obtained an agreement in principle for a permanent license allowing it to participate in the Euroleague, the president of the organizing body of the flagship basketball event announced to the press on Friday. - European ball, Jordi Bertomeu.
"I hope that by the end of February-beginning of March at the earliest, we can announce the validation of the agreement and the integration of Asvel as a long-term member of the Euroleague," said Bertomeu.
Asvel should thus become the 12th Euroleague club (out of 18 participants this season) to have a permanent A license, joining the masters of European basketball such as FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, CSKA Moscow, or again the Efes Istanbul.
This will ensure him a presence in the second best basketball league in the world behind the NBA for the next ten seasons.
