Hanover (dpa / lni) - Digital traffic management should mean that drivers in Lower Saxony are less likely to be stuck in traffic jams in the future.

Transport Minister Bernd Althusmann (CDU) will present the navigation technology NUNAV on Thursday (1:15 p.m.) in Hanover, which is intended to replace the previous evaluation of cameras and sign gantries with artificial intelligence.

The new system was developed by Graphmasters from Hanover.

Their co-founder Sebastian Heise had announced in August: "We want to repair the traffic."

According to the automobile club ADAC, the traffic jams have also decreased in Lower Saxony during the travel and contact restrictions in the Corona crisis. Bottlenecks in the new year are mainly on the A1 between Bramsche and Lohne-Dinklage, on the A7 between Seesen and Nörten-Hardenberg, between Hildesheim and the Salzgitter triangle, between Hanover-South and the Hildesheimer Börde and between Bispingen and Soltau-East to be expected. In addition, the greater Osnabrück, Bremen and Hamburg areas are still subject to congestion.
