The two men, 18 and 21 years old, have been charged with kidnapping, particularly aggravated assault, aggravated rape, aggravated robbery and assault in court.

The protracted process began when the two boys collided with the accused men on a street in Solna, late in the evening on August 23 last year, according to prosecutor Anders Tordai.

They are then said to have been subjected to violence and threats and forced objects, and were then taken from the street into the nearby cemetery.

"There they will then continue to be exposed to extensive and time-consuming violence and threats," Anders Tordai told TT in connection with the prosecution.

Burned and undressed

The victims are said to have been beaten with blows, kicks and knives and burned with fire or embers, according to the indictment.

They must also have been undressed and tied up and forced into pits.

"They have had strong anxiety about death," said Tordai.

At around eight in the morning, about eight hours after they first encountered the defendants, the boys managed to escape and met a person who helped them call the police.

The primary motive is believed to have been money, but the aggravated assault has no explanation.
