Broken furniture and broken glass - see the devastation inside the US Congress

The Capitol, which houses the Congress, is one of the holiest buildings in US democracy.

Now it is filled with debris, broken glass and flags with political messages supporting outgoing President Donald Trump.

So far, four people have been killed and 52 arrested after the massive demonstrations in Washington DC when Congress had gathered to formally approve Joe Biden as president.

Demonstrations that eventually degenerated into the Capitol being stormed.
