07 January 2021 The 13-year-old boy who died on New Year's Eve in Asti was killed by a shot exploded at close range from a rifle.

The autopsy confirmed the cause of death in the deep hemorrhage in the abdomen caused by the explosion of a large explosive body.

In particular, residues were found of a 12-gauge bullet, usually used in hunting rifles, which exploded from close range.

For this reason, the carabinieri do not exclude that it could have been a tragic fate that occurred during the celebrations.

However, no investigative hypothesis is currently excluded.

About fifty carabinieri from the provincial command of Asti carried out a series of searches at the nomad camp in via Guerra, where the victim lived with his family and where the tragedy took place and all those who were present that evening were informed about the facts. .

The thirteen year old, according to several witnesses, was playing when he was hit by the bullet, mistaken at first

for a large firecracker.

Transported to the Cardinal Massaia hospital in Asti, he arrived already in cardiac arrest and the efforts of the doctors to save his life were useless.

The investigations are carried out by the Operational Department coordinated by the Asti Public Prosecutor's Office and at the moment there are no suspects.

The boy, as announced by Carla Osella, national president of Aizo (Italian Gypsy Association Today), will be

buried with a Muslim rite in the cemetery of Asti.
