▲ Overpowering protesters who invade the Congress


Supporters of US President Donald Trump attempted to enter the US Congress, where President-elect Joe Biden's victory-defining meeting was held, and the meeting was halted and the capitol was blocked.



According to the Washington Post and other US media reports, President Trump's supporters flock to Congress at 1 PM when the Senate and House of Representatives hold a joint meeting to confirm the victory of Biden-elect.



As hundreds of people crossed the barricade and entered the Capitol Building, police fired tear gas and the Senate and House meetings were suspended.



The local media reported that they marched to parliament after protesting throughout Washington, DC, and most of them were without masks.



Around 1:00 PM, hundreds of supporters crossed the barricades and entered the Capitol, and some supporters entered the Capitol building, blocking the Capitol.



The police even tried to disperse by mobilizing tear gas, but protesters are still confronting the police at 2:30 pm local time.



With the cessation of the Senate and House joint meetings, local media reports, including Vice President Mike Pence, who presided over the Senate meeting, and other members of the Senate and House of Representatives left the conference hall.
