China News Service, Beijing, January 6 (Guo Chaokai) According to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation’s news on the 6th, the Tianwen-1 probe will implement a near-fire near Mars in more than a month (around February 10, 2021). Brake and enter the ring fire track.

As of 6:00 on January 3, China’s first Mars exploration mission, Tianwen-1, has been in orbit for about 163 days, with a flight mileage of over 400 million kilometers, close to 130 million kilometers from the earth, and about 8.3 million kilometers from Mars. .

The Tianwen-1 mission is the first step for China to independently carry out interplanetary exploration. It will achieve "orbiting, landing, and patrol" of Mars through a single launch, that is, Mars orbit, Mars landing, and fire patrol.

The Tianwen-1 probe has a total weight of about 5 tons and is composed of an orbiter and a landing patrol device. The landing patrol device mainly includes an entry module and a Mars rover.

At present, the orbiter has completed the third on-orbit self-check, and all systems are working normally.

The distance between Mars and the Earth changes periodically, with the closest being about 50 million kilometers and the farthest being more than 400 million kilometers.

On the same day, when the Q1 rover arrived near Mars, it was about 190 million kilometers away from Earth, and its total flight mileage would reach 470 million kilometers.

According to the plan, the Tianwen-1 probe will implement near-fire braking after approaching Mars in more than a month (about February 10 this year). It is commonly known as “brake” to slow down. It will be captured by Mars and enter the ring-fire orbit. A satellite of Mars, preparing for landing on Mars.
