President Trump's supporters broke into the Capitol, where the US Senate and House of Representatives confirmed the victory of Biden-elect.

Local US media, including CNN, are urgently reporting that one woman is now in critical condition by being shot.

Connect Washington.

Correspondent Kim Soo-hyung, please tell us the detailed situation first.

Today (7th) Congress was scheduled to make President-elect Biden presidential, and the unprecedented incident of President Trump's supporters, who participated in a protest rally in Washington, DC, broke into the Capitol behind me.

Police barricades broke during the intrusion of Congress, and tear gas was fired, creating an immediate tension.

With so many protesters rushing in, it did not prevent them from entering the interior of the Capitol.

Currently, the Capitol is blocked, and all the lawmakers have been evacuated as shelters, as threats to detonate the Capitol have been received.

Inside the capitol, a scene of bodyguards pointing at guns was even caught, and news that a woman was eventually shot in the chest and fell into critical condition.

The protesters eventually occupied the chairman's seat.

A night curfew has been imposed in Washington, DC, and the National Guard is gathering one after another.

When I asked supporters, I said a lot about this presidential election, which was a fraudulent election, and Biden-elect cannot be accepted as president.

situation seems quite serious, so why did it spread to such a violent protest?

<Reporter>

This is the third large-scale protest against the presidential election in Washington. I've been there, and today's protests were the toughest.

President Trump himself stepped up to protest against the presidential election and declared that he could never win the election results.

Let's listen to President Trump firsthand.

[Trump/US President: We will never give up.

We will never surrender.

There was stealing, but I can't take over.

Korea has experienced enough of this.]

Then, what will be the procedure for Biden's inauguration in the future?

<Reporter>

First, the constitutional process to determine the US presidential election process has been suspended.

It is unprecedented in American history that supporters have stopped the process by force, so it is unclear how the process will proceed.

US media are comparing the situation to a coup that disrupts the constitutional process.

Now, Washington is virtually anarchy, and discussions are expected to proceed only after the confusion is cleared.
