Bremerhaven (dpa / lni) - The Fischtown Pinguins from Bremerhaven have won the north duel of the German Ice Hockey League against the Grizzlys Wolfsburg.

With a 5: 2 (1: 1, 3: 1, 1: 0) victory over the Lower Saxony on Wednesday, the Seestädter climbed to third place in the north group after the third success in a row.

Wolfsburg, on the other hand, is second to last in the table.

The guests took the lead after nine minutes thanks to a goal from Spencer Machacek.

After that only Bremerhaven played.

Anders Krogsgaard equalized 1-1 in the first round (17th minute), then Jan Urbas (27th), Miha Verlic (35th) and Niklas Andersen (36th) shot the penguins in the middle third to a reassuring 4: 1 .

Ryan Button (39.) was able to shorten for the grizzlies.

Dominik Uher made it 5-2 shortly before the end (59th).

For Bremerhaven it continues on Saturday (5.30 p.m.) with the Krefeld Penguins.

Wolfsburg welcomes the Düsseldorfer EG on January 13th (6.30pm).
