The German Association of Pediatricians and Adolescents said that stroke also affects children, noting that the cause of stroke is often unknown.

Stroke in infants can be inferred from spasms on one side of the body.

The symptoms of stroke in older children are:

1- Paraplegia.

2- Facial paralysis.

3- Sudden language disorders.

4- Unusually severe headache with nausea and vomiting.

5- Disturbances of vision and balance.

The Association stressed the necessity of prompt action in case the child is suspected of having a stroke, in order to preserve his life, health, and his physical and mental capabilities, noting that every minute has a price.

What is a stroke?

A stroke occurs when the supply of blood supply to a part of the brain stops, or becomes drastically reduced, leading to an interruption of its supply of oxygen and nutrients, and within minutes the brain cells begin to die.

And because brain cells do not regenerate, this may lead to permanent brain damage.

There are 3 types of strokes, which are:

1- Ischemic stroke

It results from the interruption of blood supply to the brain as a result of the blockage of one of the arteries leading to it, and this is the result of a blood clot that may form in the brain or come from another place in the body, such as the heart.

And increases the possibility of stroke and a narrowing of the cerebral arteries.

Ischemic strokes constitute about 85% of all strokes.

2- Hemorrhagic stroke

And it occurs because of bleeding in one of the cerebral vessels, and this is due to several reasons, including high blood pressure and a weak part of the blood vessel wall, or a trauma or trauma to the head.

3- Transient ischemic stroke

It is a type of temporary stroke that occurs as a result of a temporary interruption or decrease in the brain's blood supply, and lasts at least 5 minutes, after which the blood supply returns to normal, and therefore permanent damage to the brain does not occur.

If a person goes through a transient stroke, this means that he is at greater risk of another stroke, and this is usually due to a narrowing or partial blockage in one of the arteries supplying the brain.
